We purchased the package from Vivint that includes the doorbell camera, the medical alert, and the key to turn the alarm on and off with. During installation, the person that put in the doorbell camera couldn't make it work. I had to wait quite a while for someone to come out, and they really take time to find out what was wrong with the doorbell camera. And the tech finally made it work. If someone comes up on my front porch and they don't ring the doorbell, I can hear chimes to let me know that someone is there. If the wind blows or I turn the front light on, it chimes. It's all motion, and I like that.
But I had a lot of problem with that doorbell camera and right now, if someone rings the doorbell, I was supposed to be able to talk to that person from my phone and that doesn't seem to work. Someone from Vivint came out and replaced the doorbell but just a little while you're hanging out on the side of the doorbell, so I never called the person back. I got tired of dealing with a lot of problems.
But I'm satisfied with the service and the security system. I haven't done any testing yet to open up my door to let it go off. When I leave the house I have the door lock combination which turns the alarm on, and my husband's keys to the back door open in the basement. So one day, I left and turned the system on by hitting the buttons on the keypad, and I got a call stating that my alarm system was going off. I was wondering why was it going off with the backdoor open. I never figured that out. And the cost is more than what I was used to paying for. It's too much per month and I'm on a fixed income, but I still pay it and overall I have recommended them and will continue doing so.
